Basic Class

The basic class is a great place to start. When you take a class from me I want you to understand and be able to use the techniques I teach you. You will not spend your time covering a dummy cake with fondant and then slap on some pre designed cut outs. I provide each student with a computer, cutting machine, my instructional book and other supplies. All you need to bring to class is a desire to learn the cake decorating method that is truly cutting edge.

I will keep things simple so don't be afraid if you are not computer savvy. I have worked with several computer programs and will teach you the program I prefer to work with. It is Make the Cut and you can order it from www.deseretdesigns.com or www.creativedesignscakes.com. You will be able to use this program with any of the electronic paper cutters inclusing the Cricut, Gazelle, Silhouette or Wishblade.

You will learn how to create your own designs and work through the process to be able to cut your creation out of gum paste.

Achieving the perfect cut is not difficult. I will show you how to work with gum paste that is suitable for my method. I will also teach you how to make the gum paste I use for this method.

You will not spend your time watching me demo the techniques and call it a day. This is a hands on class and designed to teach you the basics. You will be able to put into practice what you have learned so you too can create amazing cakes!
